Bespoke joinery for a reimagined holiday cottage.

Located in the centre of Cirencester, this project involved a full renovation of a historic cottage - opening up the ground floor and completely reshaping how the space was used. I was brought in to design a series of bespoke joinery elements that would support the new layout and tie the space together.

The work was part of a family project - my dad oversaw the build - so the process was hands-on from the start. With walls removed and spaces combined, the joinery had to bring structure and clarity to what was once a series of small, disconnected rooms.

The design focused on built-in cabinetry and functional storage, with an emphasis on simple forms and lasting materials. Each piece was drawn specifically for its position, working with the quirks of the old building and the new open-plan arrangement. Proportions were carefully balanced to bring a sense of calm and order to a cosy, shared living space.

The outcome was a clean, cohesive interior that blends traditional character with more contemporary detailing - brought to life through a collaborative and personal build process.
